The Air Museum
The Eagles Mere Air Museum is located at Merritt Field (4PN7), a private airport about 2.5 miles east of Eagles Mere, PA (17731) on PA State Road 42. The airport is atop a mountain in the beautiful Endless Mountains region in central Pennsylvania and is just a short ride from several larger, nearby cities.

This expansive collection of rare aircraft and engines in unlike any other. Many of our collectibles are the only examples remaining in flying condition. With vintage aircraft ranging from 1917 to 1944 and engines from 1908, it is our hope that this museum will serve to educate the public – flying or not – about these wonderful machines and the many brave men and women who flew them. Without these pioneers, we would not have the luxury of our current air travel system.
In addition to our vintage aircraft and engines, the Museum also includes a display of historic airplane-related memorabilia such as toys, signs, posters and pictures.

The Area
The museum calls the Village of Eagles Mere its home. Originally founded in the early 1800s, the tiny town eventually grew and became famous around 1870 as a well-known mountain resort beckoning visitors from nearby Philadelphia, Baltimore and Harrisburg. Trains transported those seeking refuge from hot summer days into much-welcome cooler mountain air.
Today, many of the area's original "cottages" still stand overlooking the natural, spring-fed lake. The town itself remains on the National Register of Historic Places. Each year the area hosts both residents and visitors from around the globe. A place where generations of families return each year to spend glorious summer days swimming or boating on the lake, at the golf course, hiking in the forests or relaxing on their front porch.
