1929 WACO “Taper Wing” CTO
The WACO CTO (T stands for Taper) in one of the most exciting and colorful airplanes of the period. Winner of the Transcontinental Air Derby and many other races. This is a “classic stunt plane” especially in the hands of Freddie Lund
There are three believed flying still.
The Taper Wing CTO is constructed of welded steel tubing and fabric covered for the fuselage. The wings are constructed of wood and also fabric covered. The engine is a Wright J-6-7 Radial, 225 HP, 7 cylinder, and air-cooled. Max speed 137mph Cruise 115 mph. Max weight 1677 lbs and payload of 308 lbs.
