Travel Air Co. built eleven model 10-D’s before the factory closed. This is the only one left. The aircraft flew for the first time since 1955 on July 25, 2006.
The aircraft was built in Wichita Kansas; after it was sold it went to Illinois until 1945; then it went to Boise, Idaho. It was flown until 1955, and then it was taken out of service to be rebuilt, which never happened. It was sold in 1963 as a project; where it hung in a hanger in Southern California until we bought it in 2004. We hauled it to North Florida, rebuilt it, and then flew it.
