The J-3 Cub is so easy to maintain and fly it is still one of the most popular aircraft ever built. It was the primary trainer for Civilian and Military flight training because of its forgiving nature. It is estimated that 65-75% of all pilots trained in WWII were trained in the J-3 Cub. One could buy a Piper Cub in any color as long as it was yellow with a black blaze.
